The latest scoop is that we will soon have a brand new $100 bill (seen directly above).
Cool looking bill right? Especially with the new colors and everything…Anyway, we started thinking “why didn’t we ever make bills larger than $100s bills?”
Turns out we did!
On July 14, 1969, the American Federal Reserve System decided to officially stop these bills from circulating. However, each bill can still be used legally.
That’s if your lucky enough to find one.
$500 bill
person on bill: William McKinley, 25th U.S. President
$1000 bill
person on bill: Grover Cleveland, 22nd and 24th U.S. President
$5000 bill
person on bill: James Madison, fourth U.S. President
$10,000 bill
person on bill: Salmon P. Chase, sixth U.S. Chief Justice
$100,000 bill
person on bill: Woodrow Wilson, 28th U.S. President
