A raindrop falling from the sky to a mosquito is like a bus falling into us!
Find out more below.
Mosquitos don’t really have the time to get completely out of the way. Also, their bodies are way too light to stop the force of the raindrop. (Imaging trying to stop that moving bus.)
So what do they do?
They ride the drop. Yup, instead of stoping the force they just move with it.
After their ride, mosquitos have to jump off quickly after hitting the ground.
To see this in action, check out the video below.

scoop tip: mosquitos can do this because of their ability to fly and move quickly. Considering our bus example, a person could not safely move with the force of a bus because our bodies were not built to handle it.
